About the Space

You spend a lot of time taking care of things. This is an hour and a half that's just for you.

Slow Down Studio is a drop-in art session held biweekly on Tuesday afternoons — a low-pressure, welcoming space to slow down, make something, and leave feeling a little more like yourself.

Each session includes a brief check-in, an optional art directive, open studio time to create at your own pace, and a closing reflection. No art experience needed. No agenda. Just space to breathe and make.

Bring your own supplies or use what's available — either way, you're welcome here.

About your facilitator

Taryn is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who has spent her career sitting with people who are exhausted from giving everything they have to others. She knows that the people who most need care are often the least likely to prioritize it for themselves, and she built Slow Down Studio with exactly that in mind.

Her approach is gentle, integrative, and grounded in the belief that creativity isn't a luxury or a reward for finishing your to-do list. It's a way back to yourself. Taryn uses art therapy not to produce beautiful things, but to create space for the kind of processing, rest, and reconnection that big-hearted people rarely get anywhere else.

In Slow Down Studio, she brings that same attentiveness to every session — so you can finally be the one who just shows up.
