What
to
expect
Every session follows the same gentle rhythm, so you can simply show up and be present.
Gather — A few minutes to arrive, settle in, and shift out of whatever the day has asked of you.
Check-in — A quick, low-pressure (and optional) moment to share how you're doing.
Create — The heart of each session. Open your art journal and make whatever wants to come out that day: color, scribbles, collage, words. No art experience needed, no right way to fill a page.
Share — We close by sharing with one another, if we want to. No critique, no fixing, just witnessing each other's process.
a space for you
You spend your days pouring into other people, your work, your family, everyone around you. Somewhere in the middle of it all, a little space just for yourself falls off the list.
Create & Connect was made for that space.
This biweekly art journaling session offers something simple but rare: time to create without an agenda, and to do it alongside others. Each gathering follows a gentle rhythm — gather, check in, create, share — designed to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself through your art journal.
No art experience is needed.
About your facilitator
Taryn is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who has spent her career sitting with people who are exhausted from giving everything they have to others. She knows that the people who most need care are often the least likely to prioritize it for themselves, and she built The Renewal Studio with exactly that in mind.
Her approach is gentle, integrative, and grounded in the belief that creativity isn't a luxury or a reward for finishing your to-do list. It's a way back to yourself. Taryn uses art therapy not to produce beautiful things, but to create space for the kind of processing, rest, and reconnection that helping professionals rarely get anywhere else.
She has worked with individuals navigating burnout, life transitions, grief, and the particular weight that comes from caring deeply about other people's wellbeing. In The Renewal Studio, she brings that same attentiveness to every session — so you can finally be the one who just shows up.
